Mr. Schmidt performs laboratory procedures such as uniaxial compressive strength, triaxial compressive strength, Brazilian tensile strength, slake durability, elastic property and point load testing, dissolution and insolubility testing, laboratory asset inventory, and core logging. He has experience operating magnetic surveying equipment from prior thesis work at Dotsero Volcano. He holds bachelors degrees in Astronomy and Geology from the University of Colorado and Colorado Mesa University and is a certified GIS technician, web applications technician, and associate-degree Python/C++/JavaScript programmer. He was previously responsible for management of chemical engineering laboratory equipment at University of Colorado Boulder and has managed inventories in the private sector. He is currently a contract Colorado Geological Survey mapper and GIS technician contributor on the USGS 1:24000 Highland Reservoir geologic quadrangle project.
