Paradox Basin Potash Project
AAI performed resource and exploration target estimates for Transit Holdings Ltd’s Paradox Basin Potash Project (PBPP) in 2009 and 2010. The PBPP comprises potash (KCl) mineralization in two beds of interest and consists of more than 370 square kilometers of Federal Mineral Leases, currently under application with the Bureau of Land Management, and leases with the State of Utah.
AAI issued a JORC Exploration Target report based on a contemporary geologic block model developed from historical geophysical data from 25 oil and gas exploration holes and published results of core testing from one scientific drill hole.
AAI later teamed with Perth-based ProMet Engineers to prepare a solution mining scoping study for a 25-year initial mine life. Favorable results of the study justified investment in an exploration drilling program. In 2010, AAI assisted Transit in the planning of a multi-hole exploration program for defining a sizable JORC-compliant Measure and Indicated Mineral Resource.
