Intrepid Mining LLC
AAI assisted Intrepid in developing the initial mine plan and injection permits for solution mining of depleted conventionally mined potash deposits in New Mexico. Tasks included conceptual planning, mine plan development, permit applications to the U. S. Bureau of Land Management and State agencies, costing and project management. The application of solution mining and expansion of evaporation capacity to this operation allows Intrepid to advance its model toward increasingly low-cost production.
The HB mine utilizes solar evaporation to crystallize potash from brines. Solar evaporation is a cost-effective production method because it significantly reduces labor and energy consumption.
AAI continues to review and independently determine the reserves based on mine plans and other data furnished by Intrepid.
