Solution Mining of Trona
Eti Soda, Inc. has developed the Beypazari trona deposits in Turkey. AAI has been involved since 1999 in various projects. Initially AAI reviewed plans for underground mining the southern portion of the deposit. This involved review of geologic, geotechnical, and geo-hydrology to assess reserves, mine productivity, ventilation, and capital and operation costs. More recently, AAI has developed the plans for solution mining to sustain production of 1 Mtpa of soda ash. Currently AAI is monitoring the Phase V and VI commercial drilling programs and planning expansion to produce 1.5 Mtpa of soda ash. AAI serves as advisor to upper management for wellfield development.
